Canary Mugume with wife Fiona aka Sasha right after exchanging vows at Rubaga Cathedral
The lovely day started off with showers of blessing (literally) until it stubbornly went overboard: overflowing and became a menace for the rest of the evening.
However, the effect of the rain was only felt outside the reception area. Inside the mega skyline tent, you could mistake it for a different area altogether thanks to iCandy’s heavenly decor and Fenon events’ glamorous production.

Nonetheless, the effect of the rain was felt leading to the function beginning late at around 4 pm (which is rare for functions occurring these days due to the pandemic). As guests waited for the Mugumes to arrive, the music band kept them embraced with beautiful relaxing melodies. The video coverage team also did a great job broadcasting many unsuspecting guests onto the huge LED screens as they chatted with each other. This idea was really an impressive ingredient that we don’t get to see on many occasions- even when the screens are available. Here’s the thing; when a guest is coming to a wedding, they -mostly- come dressed ostentatiously in their best attires and they’d definitely appreciate being broadcast at the reception if the opportunity presented itself. This is therefore a good idea that most media teams need to adopt. Doing a live feed and broadcasting on screens at the reception is a courteous gesture that says you appreciate how guests are spiffed up for your event.
I mean, who doesn’t want to see their smart outfit and meticulously done makeup on the big screens!
As much as the rain remained stubbornly raining, the day’s MCs-and Canary’s workmates, Uncle Mark and Samson Kasumba ensured to keep the guests kept warm with a few light jokes.
And who knew Samson Kasumba had an awesome country music voice! He opened up the evening with a wonderful melody that left everyone utterly speechless.
Canary and Sasha’s wedding was graced by many VIPs; government and business moguls including Sudhir Ruparelia, Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi, Capt. Mike Mukula, other ministers and members of Parliament, senior army officials, and other business moguls.
The two love birds met 8 years ago during their s6 vacation and have not looked back since then.
Giving his speech, he met Sasha eight years ago when he starting working on television. He said that one of the inspirations to join television was to meet Sasha whom he had a huge crush on.
Canary took to Twitter to show excitement for his big day.
